Description of Services:
Outpatient clinics for children and adolescents located at EGH
Adolescents Medicine Clinic:adolescent health improvement through the provision of inclusive, developmentally appropriate, compassionate and culturally safe care to youth and their families dealing with general and minor mental health (anxiety/depression), coping with chronic illness and supporting the transition of care to adult health care
Antenatal Clinic: provides prenatal counselling to pregnant mothers and partners regarding complications of pregnancy and impact to the fetus, carried out in conjunction with perinatal and obstetrical teams to enable informed decision making regarding medical management of maternal and fetal care in pregnancy. The prenatal consults may be requested by perinatal, obstetrical and primary care obstetrical physicians. This service is provided to enhance multidisciplinary care for individuals needing complex medical care in pregnancy
Bilirubin (Jaundice) Clinic:
For infants requiring additional assessment and management of care related to higher blood bilirubin levels, including blood testing to assess current blood levels
Breastfeeding Clinic:
For infants and families requiring additional education and support related to successful breastfeeding of the infant. The clinic is staffed by nurses and lactation consultant experts
Endocrine Clinic:
For children and adolescents with endocrine conditions requiring additional assessment and management of care by a multidisciplinary team
Gastrointestinal (GI) Clinic:
For children and adolescents with gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic conditions requiring additional assessment and management of care by a multidisciplinary team
Neurology Clinic:
For children and adolescents with neurological conditions requiring additional assessments and management of care by a multidisciplinary team
Paediatric Cardiology Clinic:
Accepts paediatric patients with possible cardiac disease. Priority is given to early discharge of patients from the inpatient wards or NICU with follow up visits with the paediatric cardiologists
Preoperative Preparation Program:
For children and adolescents receiving education related to an upcoming surgical procedure and coping with the hospitalization
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Clinic:
For infants who meet criteria for RSV prophylaxis vaccination following a premature or at risk birth
Urgent Pediatric Assessment Clinic:
For children and adolescents who need medical follow-up after an emergency department visit, a family physician visit, an inpatient admission
Location: Fourth Level, Paediatric Outpatient Clinic
