Description of Services:

The CHOICES program through Rebound North is geared to youth who are having difficulty with substance use, relationships, decision making, and problem solving skills. The program offers weekly sessions that focus on the development of different skills with emphasis on informed decisions about substance use. Using a proven Life Skills Model, reliable information is presented to the group using videos, table discussion and behaviour rehearsals to enhance the learning environment and promote skill development. Rebound North is a volunteer based program committed to helping young people develop skills that promote a positive response to themselves, others and their community. Weekly topics include: - communication - decision making - goal setting - alcohol - coping skills/cannabis - relationships - prescription drugs - self-respect - risk taking/social media - graduation/where do I go from here? The program teaches and reinforces social skills and life skills that enable young people to make sound decisions, set goals and develop a sense of personal responsibility. Senior students may be matched with younger students as mentors.
