Hospital inpatient amputee rehabilitation program * focuses on:
- achieving ambulation (walking/moving around) with a prosthesis or improving transfers with a prosthesis
- practicing functional ambulation activities (e.g. stairs, ramp, curbs)
- practicing functional activities of daily living
- identifying and prescribing necessary equipment for discharge
- learning management of life with a prosthesis
- learning about leisure activities and community reintegration
- regular educations with ongoing individual education as required
Services provided by a physiatrist, nurses, nutritionist, prosthetist, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacist, recreation therapist, and social workers
